I like these photos of the two monkeys, that sat grooming themselves almost at our feet in the middle of the walking track. Langkawi is the only country we have been in that we could get so close to monkeys, and reasonably safely. I have to admit I was chased by monkeys twice while I was there, but they were after my icecream not intending to harm me. These two were quite peaceful.

Too cute :) Thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting! Gerbils are not rats, by the way, that particular species is just called a rat for some reason (probably because they do resemble rats). They are related to rats, but not really closely - they are just both rodents. Guinea pigs are considered rodents, too, but that may change in the future, there's a debate going on about their status.

Oh they are gorgeous. There are such wonderful pictures of spectacular scenery in this blog. Especially the water falls and that grotto which the road went under.

Thanks for visiting my blog. The he is actually a she :) and boisterous only when outdoors. Indoors she's calm as anything and even has a full set of teeth in her mouth. That one photo just came out quite comical :)

I noticed a typo mistake on your site called Langkawi and Malaysia is spelled with a 'y' insted of a 't'.

Ouch. Can you imagine the brain freeze they'd experience if they ate too much ice cream?

These images are delightful. And I get a good chuckle imagining monkeys chasing the passersby for junk food and other goodies. Makes me think of the squirrels in our university area.

really interesting critters. we have lots of them in subic and they freely play around with tourists.

Oh I remember these same kind of monkeys just sit and look for glasses and cameras to steal and then you have a job getting them back because if you get closer to them they see it as aggressive behavior. So you have to wait till they get tired and drop them. That is if they don't eat them first lol

Monkeys are cute to watch, but scary to me for some reason. I just don't trust them. Cute photos.

Thanks for vising my blog.
When I was in Bali, the monkeys grabbed my husband's cap. Then another grabbed my glasses. Had to be cajoled to return them by the 'minder' with some peanuts!

You don't want to monkey around with monkeys...in South Florida a bunch have gotten loose and are scooting about in the mangroves...

Malaysia has lots of monkeys and even Tigers.
Desaru Beach Hotel has lots of stories. Once maybe a thousand monkeys came stayed a while and left. Another time they had Japanese tourists who always take lots of pictures.
Well that day two white tigers swam across from Indonesia and came ashore.
The Japanese tourists thought they were there for them so they went to them and began taking pictures until they found out different.
I don't know if anyone died but that was a story every one had to laugh and cry at. We'd say only the Japanese would think tigers roaming free, with no supervision, would be for tourists.
Ya, tourists were breakfast lol

Wonderful blog. Do these monkeys actually attack when you have something they want? Ooh, I don't know I'd want to be around them.

Thank you for visiting my blog today. I always follow up on new comments so can expand my blog experience.

I have only been blogging since March, but have met many lovely bloggers.

I enjoy writing, especially about my younger days. When you are 70+ you look back with a different perspective now from when the in the moment of the early event you are writing about.

Loved all three of your pages. My husband was in US Navy and spent some time in Australia/New Zealand many years ago in Operation Antartica.

They're quietly busy! If those were monkeys from India, they'd snatch away the camera or your handbag or whatever seems to them like they can do something with... but these, wow you were quite close to them when you photographed. :-)

I love little monkeys. When I was in Kenya I visited a monkey sanctuary and there are monkeys all over in the bushes there. It was nice to visit the sanctuary though and listen to the conservationist. I was given some food to feed the monkey and though I had my fingers closed, the monkeys came right up and pried my fingers open to get the food. It was like they were little toddlers. Your post reminded me of that fun visit.
